CLUB: Wairarapa R.C. @ Tauherenikau
The Tauherenikau Racecourse hosts three race days a year in November, January and February. The January and February dates are organised by the Wairarapa Racing Club with the January meeting often incorporating harness racing as well as gallops. The November meeting is organised by the Masterton Racing Club and is the perfect opportunity to get a group of work colleagues together and celebrate the festive season. The Tauherenikau Racecourse is a perfect spot to relax and enjoy a picnic whilst watching the racing. Set in 110 acres of beautiful native bush, with magnificent trees and quant buildings Tauherenikau is, without doubt, one of the most picturesque racing club environments in New Zealand.

Tauherenikau Racecourse
Located on State Highway 2 between the South Wairarapa townships of Featherston and Greytown.
From Wellington - 1 hours drive on SH 2
From Masterton - 30 minutes drive on SH2
Train from Wellington - leaves 9.55 am both days, returning at 5.35 pm from Featherston. Complimentary buses are available to transport patrons to and from the train.

Membership: Annual subscription $45. Includes:
* Free entry for two people to Tauherenikau’s three racedays.
* Members car parking and entrance to the Members Stand
Parking: The Club also has for sale private car parks for 4 years, contact main office for details. These car parks are located adjacent to the saddling enclosure at the eastern end of the course and the other is directly outside the Members gate. Functions: Tauherenikau is a great venue for weddings, family functions and reunions, sports groups and corporate retreats and conferences. Budget type accommodation is available.
Picnic hampers - these can be pre-booked and purchased through the office along with a 3m x 3m marquee (contact office for price list)
