CLUB: Racing Taupo @ Taupo
Racing Taupo a TRAC club, holds four annual meetings - Stud Day in August; Spring Marquee Day in September; an October race day and the Summer meeting in December which is part of Destination Summer Holiday Racing. Taupo's Centennial Park racecourse is renowned for its ability to provide a consistent galloping surface leading up to major spring racing and, accordingly, attracts many high-profile and well-bred horses which commence their campaigns at the Stud Day and Spring Marquee Meeting. There are no permanent grandstands at the course but a natural bank running the length of the track provides excellent viewing. Marquees are erected at all meetings to provide shelter from sun or adverse weather conditions.

Taupo Racecourse
From the north: as you enter Taupo township up the hill from the Control Gates Bridge take the first left at the roundabout and proceed up Spa Road remaining in the left lane when the road veers to the right past Taupo Bungy, continue along Centennial Drive past Owen Delany Park until you reach the Racing Club entrance on the left hand side.
From the south: from the lakefront turn right up State Highway 5 (Napier-Taupo Road); take the second left into Crown Road; first right into Miro Street and continue to T junction at the end of Miro Street and turn right into Broadlands Road; take first left into Centennial Drive and racecourse entrance is on your right.
From Hawkes Bay: From the Napier-Taupo Road turn right into Crown Road and follow directions as above.

Membership: Annual subscription $45.00 (inc. GST). Membership provides you with privileges for all meetings at TRAC’s partner Clubs (Racing Matamata, Racing Rotorua, Racing Taupo, Racing Tauranga, Racing Thames and Racing Te Aroha) allowing free entry to 46 meetings across 6 different venues.
Taupo Info:
Admission: Free except for the Summer meeting in December when entry is $5 for adults. Under 18s go free.
Catering: There are coffee stands, hot chips etc. and a wide variety of freshly made food is available at all meetings.
Eftpos: Available on course at the main tote booth.
Taupo Track Info:
Taupo is a 1475m left handed track with a 250m straight.
This is a turning track where it is important to draw close at all starting points except at the 2100m which provides a good run to the first bend.
