CLUB: Paeroa R.C. @ Paeroa
Paeroa Racing Club is a beautiful country race course set at the base of the Coromandel Ranges. “Twin hills” are incorporated in our steeplechase course which makes for extremely exciting and spectacular jumps racing. No other course in New Zealand has two hills like our course and arguably we feel our jumping course is one of the best in New Zealand. We are a Strategic Jumping Venue. This year we race 7 times at Paeroa Racecourse – September, November, January, February, March, May and July. As one of the Strategic Jumps Venues our May, July and September racedays are guaranteed at least two hurdle and two steeplechase races with highweights and amateur races also making up the race card of the day. So come join our country racing atmosphere at any, or all, of our seven racemeetings during the season. We would love to see you here.

Paeroa Racecourse
Centrally located we are only an hours drive from Auckland, Hamilton, Tauranga or the Coromandel Coast. The course is located on the main highway to Thames.
From Auckland – turn left at Caltex Service Station on to Station Road, drive to end, turn left on to the main Thames Highway and 500metres on right is the course with the main entrance gates.
From Tauranga, Waihi or Hamilton – turn right on to the main Thames Highway where there is large sign indicating “Coromandel Peninsula”. Follow this road and 2km on right is the course with the main entrance gates.

We have 10 live steeple fences made of bamboo with the final fence in the home straight being the only one that is not live. Flat race distances range from 1150m to 2200m and hurdling and steeplechase distances range from 2950 to 4800m.
We have upgraded our irrigation system and built three ponds so an endless water supply could be used from the local spring that runs through the course to irrigate our course proper enabling a superb racing surface. The track is available to other clubs to utilize if and when needed in these volatile weather pattern times.
