RACECOURSE: Cromwell
The second day is in December and has quickly established itself as a top venue for Christmas office parties. Some people believe it is only a matter of time before figures for December eclipse March. The March meeting is run by Gallop South whilst December is organised by the Otago Racing Club. The Cromwell Jockey Club ceased as an entity in the 1980s but thankfully their venue was saved by those who had a vision for the future.

Both days celebrate what is good about Central Otago - quality wine, regional produce, local music and arts are all celebrated. The close vicinity of the track to Queenstown and Wanaka and business growth in Cromwell itself have undoubtedly led to the unprecedented growth in both days. Crowd participation activities are popular and the focus is firmly on good honest family fun.
