Situated five minutes from the Palmerston North town centre and fifteen minutes from the Airport, Awapuni Racecourse offers race goers the latest in modern facilities. Set amongst beautiful park-like grounds is the recent $8.7 million construction of the Awapuni multi-purpose Function Centre. Race goers can watch the all the action in the comfort and style from the latest modern facilities. The magnificent first floor, known as the Silks Lounge, will accommodate for up to 400 guests, it has large decking area with panoramic views of the race course. The 1800m Awapuni Track means all horse get their chances with a 400 metre home straight giving everyone a sight as they head home for victory.

Feilding Gold Cup – Saturday 30th October 2010
The Feilding Gold Cup Raceday is the major racemeeting of the year for the Feilding Jockey Club. Total prizemoney on this day is $135,000, including $45,000 in the feature event - the Feilding Gold Cup.
The Feilding Gold Cup is one of the richest Listed races in New Zealand and is the major New Zealand race on the first day of the Victoria Racing Club's four day Melbourne Cup Carnival – AAMI Victoria Derby Day.
TAB betting on Feilding Gold Cup Raceday (a good guide to the interest generated by the event) is consistently over $1.9 million - making it one of the most successful race meetings at Awapuni. Feilding Gold Cup Day is popular with social groups and the corporate sector, with many businesses hosting early Christmas Parties here due to work commitments in December.

The Awapuni Lounge situated on the first floor of the members stand is for our valued members only. Members will also have opportunity to reserve a table at a discount to advertised rates on those days that the Silks Lounge is available.
