RACECOURSE: Awapuni
Awapuni racecourse, located in Palmerston North, is the home to the Feilding, Manawatu, Marton, and Rangitikei Racing Clubs. Set amongst beautiful park-like grounds is the recent $8.7 million construction of the Awapuni multi-purpose Function Centre. Race goers can watch the all the action in the comfort and style from the latest modern facilities. The magnificent first floor, known as the Silks Lounge, will accommodate for up to 400 guests, it has large decking area with panoramic views of the race course. The 1800m Awapuni Track means all horse get their chances with a 400 metre home straight giving everyone a sight as they head home for victory.

Awapuni Racecourse is on the outskirts of the City, heading West from the City Centre on Pioneer Highway. Maxwells Line is the last street on the left before leaving the city, race course road is located off this Street approximately 500m down.

Central Region Ford Dealers Manawatu Sires Produce Stakes - Saturday 3rd April 2010
The Central Region Ford Dealers Manawatu Sires Produce Stakes is the Manawatu Racing Club’s most prestigious raceday of the year. Established in 1908, the Manawatu Sires Produce Stakes will be run for the 102nd time at Awapuni on Saturday 3rd April 2010.
With $530,000 in prizemoney on offer, this meeting is one of the richest and most exciting autumn events on the New Zealand Racing calendar – consistently attracting a high-class field from throughout the country.
The Sires Produce Stakes is one of only three Premier meetings at Awapuni – the other two being the Manawatu Cup in December and the Marton Cup in January. Premier racedays are the highest profile meetings on the New Zealand Racing Calendar.

Entry to Awapuni Racecourse is $5 for Manawatu Sires Produce, the Christmas at the Races events which for 2010 will be; December 11th and 18th. Entry is $10 on Boxing Day. All other Manawatu Racing Club meetings are free.
