RACECOURSE: Woodville

Woodville racecourse is home to Woodville-Pahiatua Racing Club (Inc).  The course is nestled below the Tararua and Ruahine ranges with windmills standing as sentinels, which has made Woodville “The Windmill Capital of New Zealand”.

Woodville Racecourse

Woodville is a Junction town, with Manawatu, Wairarapa & Hawke’s Bay being on our borders.  Coming through the gorge from Manawatu, or up from Masterton or traveling down from Hawke’s Bay you just come to the intersection to all these places.  The intersection being Vogel Street with McLean Street. Turn (north) up McLean Street and travel approx 2km to town boundary and there is the racecourse.

It’s the traditional New Year “catch up” for family and friends at the Woodville January raceday so make sure to mark it in your diary now. Join us for a great day of superb thoroughbred action in the Windmill Capital of New Zealand! There will be free entertainment for the children, some great racing for the grown-ups and a chance to relax unwind in one of New Zealand’s favourite country racecourses.

Admission: There is a gate charge of $5 on Cup Day in January but all other meetings are free entry.
