Otago R.C.Clubs & Courses Index
The Club was first established in 1862 and moved to its present location of Wingatui in 1899. In the current season, they will hold fourteen race meetings at the Wingatui racecourse and one at the Cromwell racecourse. Otago holds the record of being the first Club in New Zealand to exceed 100,000 pound turnover in one day. Wingatui is the strategic racing and training centre in the Otago region and hosts all the region’s Group and Listed races. The Club has been enjoying a resurgence in popularity and high attendances have led to the allocation of its first Premier meeting license in 2007.
